UOB cardmember drives away Porsche Cayenne for her birthday
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 March 2013 - UOB cardmember Ms Kang Seok Lin received an early birthday gift when she won a RM700,000 Porsche Cayenne Tiptronic S from United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) in the "UOB Drive Away With A Porsche Cayenne" contest.
An elated Ms Kang, 42, could not believe her luck and was ecstatic as she would be celebrating her birthday early next month.
"This is the best birthday gift from UOB. I always use my UOB card to make payments for my purchases and bills because of the fantastic rebates and rewards. I knew that the more I used it, the higher my opportunity to win, but I certainly did not expect to win the Grand Prize!" said Ms Kang, a finance manager, who received the keys to her new car at the prize presentation ceremony held today at Bangsar Village II, Kuala Lumpur.

We wanted to give our cardmembers a luxury that they would never forget."
Historic high billings1 during contest period
UOB Malaysia saw a record 20 per cent increase in its cards2 billings during the three-month contest period from 26 October 2012 to 31 January 2013. The number of new cards issued to eligible customers doubled to 28,000 during the contest period.
"The increase in our cards billings and acquisition is demonstration that cardmembers are looking for great value and opportunities such as winning a luxury car worth RM700,000. With our focus on having a robust rewards programme for retention and acquisition, we expect to increase our billings market share further this year," Mr Lam said.
The "UOB Drive Away With A Porsche Cayenne" contest was held alongside the "UOB Weekly Giveaway Contest", where 22 Apple iPhone 5s and 77 Panasonic Lumix cameras were up for grabs. During the contest period, UOB cardmembers who used their UOB cards for local transactions automatically qualified for one entry for each RM50 they swiped on their cards, while overseas transactions earned 10 entries for each RM50 swiped.
