COVID-19 Relief Assistance

Following the recent announcement by the Government of Malaysia, UOB Malaysia will begin to offer Financial Management and Resilience Programme (URUS) effective 15 November 2021. In collaboration with Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK), the scheme is designed to provide further support to eligible individual customers who continue to be financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.


Financial Management and Resilience Programme (URUS)

Individual customers who fulfil the criteria below can apply for URUS with UOB Malaysia from 15 November 2021 to 31 January 2022.

What can you opt in for?
An interest/profit waiver for a period of 3 months;


A 3-month interest/profit waiver together with reduced instalments for a period of up to 24 months for unsecured personal loans/financing and credit cards.
Who is eligible?


  • Gross household income of RM5,880 or lower. Those who are not registered recipients of Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) or Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) will have to present supporting documents.
  • Have experienced either loss of employment or reduction of income of at least 50%.
  • Whose loan/financing is still performing (not in arrears exceeding 90 days) as at the date of their application.
What documents are needed to apply for URUS?
  • EPF statement; OR
  • Bank statement; OR
  • Income tax form; OR
  • Salary slip/payment vouchers; OR
  • Letter of termination from previous employer
The document must be the latest available document to show your current income or employment status.

PEMULIH Programme

Meanwhile, UOB Malaysia’s existing Covid-19 Relief Assistance Programme below (effective 7 July 2021 onwards) continues to be available for customers.

What can you opt in for?
Package One
A repayment moratorium for a period of six months on all loans and financing


Package Two
A reduction of 50 per cent on monthly repayment instalments for a period of six months for all loans and financing
Applicable for loans and financing that:
  • were approved before 1 July 2021; and
  • have not been in arrears exceeding 90 days upon application.
You can contact the Bank and opt to convert your outstanding credit card balances into three-year term loan for lower instalment payment plan.
