Following the migration of Citibank Malaysia’s Consumer Banking business to UOB Malaysia, we would like to inform you that we will commence the delivery of your new refreshed credit and debit cards progressively.

What does this mean to you?

This means that all your Citi-branded cards will be changed to UOB cards. For now, rest assured that you may continue to use your Citi-branded cards (now known as UOB cards) without interruptions and enjoy the benefits and privileges that you are accustomed to. We will replace your Citi-branded cards with UOB cards by Q2 2024.

Why am I receiving a new UOB credit/debit card?

Following the migration of Citibank Malaysia’s Consumer Banking business to UOB Malaysia, we will be refreshing the look of your Citi branded card(s) with a brand new UOB card(s).
What do I need to do when I receive my new UOB credit/debit card(s)?

Kindly activate your new UOB card(s) within 30 days from the delivery date (refer to the next question).
How do I activate my UOB card(s)?

Credit Card

Option 1: via UOB TMRW app
Step 1: Sign in to your UOB TMRW app
Step 2: Select your card under “Accounts” menu
Step 3: Tap on “Activate now” under “Services” and set your 6-digit PIN

 

Option 2: Via Interactive Voice Response

Step 1: SMS the following to 66300 (for Malaysia registered mobile number) or 79900 (for Singapore registered mobile number)

UOBPIN<space>NRIC/Passport No.<space> Credit Card Last 4 digit (Example: UOBPIN 123456121234 8888)

You will receive a temporary CONTROL ID and One-Time-Password

Step 2: Call the PIN creation hotline

  • Dial 03-2612 8121
  • Select Credit Card/ Debit Card Activation and PIN Creation menu
  • Key in your Control ID and One-Time-Password
  • Set your 6-digit PIN

 

Option 3: Via SMS

NOTE: If you choose to activate the card via SMS, your existing PIN will remain the same. You may still change your PIN via UOB TMRW App or IVR.

Debit Card

Option 1: via UOB TMRW app

Option2: via UOB ATM
Step 1: Insert your new debit card and key in your current PIN
Step 2: Select “Others”
Step 3: Select “Activate UOB Debit Card”
Step 4: Key in NEW Debit Card expiry date (MM/YY)

 

Option 3: Via Interactive Voice Response

Will there be changes to my current card number?

No, your new UOB card(s) will feature the same 16-digit card number as your current Citi branded card.
What happens to the credit limit on my Citi credit Card?
+
It remains the same. The credit limit of your migrated UOB credit card(s) will be exactly the same as your existing Citi credit limit.
When will I receive my new UOB Debit card?
+
We would commence the delivery of your new refreshed UOB card(s) progressively with an expected completion by December 2023.
When will I receive my new UOB credit card(s)?
+
We would commence the delivery of your new refreshed UOB card(s) progressively with an expected completion by Q2 2024.
Can I still use my Citi branded credit/debit card(s)?
+
You may continue to use your Citi branded cards until your new card arrives. Your current Citi branded card(s) will only be deactivated upon activation of your new UOB card(s).
When will my Citi branded credit/debit card(s) be deactivated?
+
Please activate your UOB card(s) before your current card expiry or June 2024, whichever earlier, to avoid disruption to your card usage.
My address printed on the latest credit card/CASA statement is outdated. How do I update my address to ensure my statement and cards are delivered to the correct address?

You may update your address via Personal Internet Banking:
  • Log in to UOB Personal Internet Banking via www.UOB.com.my
  • Go to My Profile > Change of Address > Select Account
  • Update your preferred address

Will there be any fees or charges when I activate my new UOB credit/debit card(s)?

No additional fee charged when you activate your new UOB card(s). SST charges on your credit card will continue to be billed on your card anniversary date as usual.
Can I use my new UOB Debit Card for cash withdrawal and retail transaction in overseas?
+
You can perform cash withdrawal and retail transaction in overseas with your new UOB Debit Card if you have opt-in to this feature. To opt-in or opt-out on this feature, you may perform self-serve via TMRW mobile app (for existing UOB TMRW mobile app users) or walk-in to the nearest UOB Branch.
What will happen to my existing UOB Card limit settings?

For Credit Card, the limit for your credit card will stay the same for your respective cards.

For Debit Card, the limit will be revised as per existing UOB Debit Card setting as below:

Will my Citi Rewards Points expire after migration and what is the expiration rule for points earned on my UOB credit card?

All migrated Citi Rewards Points/Citi PremierMiles which will be known as UNIRinggit, and will remain evergreen (never expire). All new UNIRinggit earned after migration will have 3 years validity.
How can I redeem air miles/merchandise/vouchers/Cash Back?

Are the UOB credit/debit card fees and charges the same as the Citi credit/debit card fees and charges?

Yes, your fees and charges will remain the same, unless otherwise communicated to you. Kindly refer to the detailed information on UOB card fees & charges on our website.

Does UOB have instalment plans?

Absolutely! We do have instalment plans, namely Easi-Payment Plan and Instalment Payment Plan. You may find out more on our website.
My Citi account payment history determines my interest rate, will this practice be the same with UOB?

Yes, it will. Your interest rate will continue to be based on your Citi account payment history.
Credit card statements and payment
How should I continue to make payment to my credit card after migration?
+

There is no change to your credit card number. You may continue to make payment using the same 16 digits credit card number via various payment methods below:

  1. Payment via Interbank GIRO:
    New transfer
    • Login your preferred bank account
    • Select new transfer/payment to “United Overseas Bank Berhad
    • Key in your 16 digits credit card numbers
    • Transaction/payment type: Credit card
    • Follow the steps on screen

Is there any impact to my autobilling payments?

There is no impact to your autobilling payments that you have with your merchants and you can continue to make payments via fund transfer or standing instruction using the same card number. If you have your card information saved/stored on your e-wallet or shopping apps (for example, Grab, Touch and Go, Boost, Lazada or Shopee apps), you will only need to update your new CVV and expiry date AFTER receiving and activating your new UOB card(s).
I have paid my credit card in full. Why was I charged Retail Interest?

Retail Interest will be charged if payment to your credit card is made after the due date.
I have paid my Citi Credit Card via DuitNow transfer. When can I see the payment reflected in my transactions history?
+
Your credit card payment should be reflected in your transactions history by the following day. Your payment is successful if you have received an SMS from UOB on the payment receipt. Your available credit limit would also increase according to the amount paid.
