The UOB Heartbeat CSR programme demonstrates our long-term commitment to enriching lives, to opening minds and to strengthening bonds in the communities where we operate. We aim to create sustainable good to foster caring and inclusive societies through our efforts in corporate philanthropy, stakeholder partnerships and employee participation.
Each year, we unite as one with our families, friends and customers at the UOB Heartbeat Run to raise funds for causes that align with our corporate social responsibility (CSR) focus on art, children and education.
Driven by a passion to encourage talented artists in their creative pursuits, UOB started the Painting of the Year (POY) competition in Singapore in 1982. Today, the annual art competition is the longest-running in Singapore and one of the most prestigious in Southeast Asia. The competition spread its wings to Malaysia in 2011 and has helped to discover many talented emerging artists and recognise several established professionals who have contributed significantly to the development of the local Malaysian art scene.
We launched UOB My Digital Space, a multi-year education programme to bridge the digital gap for children from disadvantaged backgrounds across the region and to provide them with the essentials for their digital learning journey now and into the future.
Against the backdrop of uncertainty and social isolation experienced by many people amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we introduced UOB Art Explorer, an online visual arts programme that promotes mental well-being and to bring the benefits of art to everyone from young to old. UOB Art Explorer helps you to learn and to explore art through a comprehensive series of art tutorials, art therapy sessions, art storytelling and virtual exhibitions.
