UOB Malaysia's donation will be used to help the Children's Home of Hope provide a recreational therapy programme which uses drama, music, art and games to communicate with and help children resolve the psychosocial challenges associated with cancer. The donation was made by UOB Malaysia's Personal Financial Services (PFS) team and the Bank's business partners as part of the UOB Malaysia Heartbeat Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

"Giving back to the communities in which we operate is fundamental to our business philosophy. We are deeply committed to supporting inclusive communities in the areas of art, education and children, which we believe are essential for the progress of a country, its economy and its people. It is now both a custom and a tradition that we give back to the community each year.

"This year we are pleased to have the support of our business partners in our effort to help children across the country who are battling cancer. The practical and emotional support provided to child cancer patients and their families by The Children's Home of Hope is significant, and we are thankful for the opportunity to help them continue their good work."

On receiving the donation, Mr Nair said, "We are grateful to UOB Malaysia for supporting us in our efforts to provide care and support for child cancer patients and their caregivers. This generous contribution will help us build our recreational therapy programme to support the emotional and mental well-being of child cancer patients and their families who visit our home. With UOB Malaysia's help, the Children's Home of Hope can continue to be a 'home away from home' for many more of these unfortunate children."
