Bank takes precautionary steps to contain the spread of COVID-19
Kuala Lumpur, 8 October 2020 – United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) today announced shorter operational hours for six of its 45 branches nationwide for the time being. This is to ensure that as it continues to provide essential banking services, the well-being of its customers and employees is also protected.
As a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Bank’s six branches will be open from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday, from today until 22 October 2020, or until further notice. The six branches are:
Selangor | • Klang |
Kedah | • Alor Setar • Sungai Petani |
Sabah | • Kota Kinabalu • Tuaran • Sandakan |
Self-service banking facilities1 within these branches will be available from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm daily.
Mr Wong Kim Choong, Chief Executive Officer, UOB Malaysia, said the Bank’s priority is the health and safety of its customers and employees.
“To ensure the safety of our people and our customers, we are reducing for now the operational hours of a few of our branches. We will continue to uphold stringent standard operating procedures and monitor all remaining branches closely in order to serve our customers while protecting everyone’s well-being.”
UOB Malaysia also wishes to reassure its customers that the Bank has implemented precautionary measures recommended by the government at its premises to ensure the safety of everyone. The Bank encourages its customers to continue using its digital banking services, including UOB Personal Internet Banking, UOB Business Internet Banking Plus and the UOB Mighty mobile app.
