UOB Malaysia continues to support customers with essential banking services through targeted CMCO period

UOB Malaysia temporarily closes nine branches nationwide as part of its enhanced precautionary measures

 

Kuala Lumpur, 22 October 2020 – United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (UOB Malaysia) wishes to reassure customers it will continue to operate throughout the targeted Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and remains committed to providing the banking services essential during these trying times.

As part of the latest CMCO requirements, the Bank has temporarily closed nine of its 45 branches nationwide as it balances the need to provide essential banking services with protecting the well-being of its customers and colleagues.

The nine branches that were temporarily closed from 21 October 2020 until further notice, are:

Kuala Lumpur • Jalan Imbi
• Medan Pasar
• Kepong
Selangor • Kota Damansara
• Shah Alam
• Ijok
• Jalan Othman, Petaling Jaya
Sabah • Tuaran
• Sandakan

The Bank's self-service banking (SSB)1 facilities within the affected branches will continue to be available from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm daily.

As more people stay safe at home, the Bank encourages customers to use its digital banking services such as UOB Personal Internet Banking, UOB Mighty and UOB Business Internet Banking Plus to manage their banking and financial needs.

For customers who visit us at the UOB Malaysia branches that remain open, the Bank continues to take precautionary measures to protect the well-being of customers and colleagues per the standard operating procedures recommended by the government.

To ensure all banking services remain operational and secure, the Bank has also activated its business continuity plans for all critical functions and services. As a result, employees will be working from their respective business continuity sites, from home and on split shifts.

UOB Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience these changes may cause for some but believes it is the right thing to do for all. The Bank asks for your patience and understanding as it makes these adjustments and strives to meet its normal customer service standards during this time.
