Kuala Lumpur, 22 July 2025 – UOB Malaysia has secured three prestigious accolades, reinforcing its position as a leading foreign bank in the country. At the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2025, the Bank was named Best Bank for Consumers under the Banking Category. Additionally, at the 29th Annual FinanceAsia Awards 2025 – Southeast Asia, UOB Malaysia was recognised as Best Bank and Best Sustainable Bank in the Malaysia International category. These recognitions are testament to UOB Malaysia’s continued commitment to banking excellence, sustainability, and customer-centric innovation.
The Euromoney recognition marks a significant milestone for UOB Malaysia’s retail banking franchise. It reflects the successful integration of Citigroup’s Consumer Banking business and the Bank’s continued growth in credit card and wealth management services. The award also highlights UOB Malaysia’s dedication to delivering superior customer experiences through innovative digital solutions and personalised services tailored to the evolving needs of Malaysian consumers.
The FinanceAsia Awards celebrate institutions that demonstrated resilience and delivered strong outcomes in 2024. The Bank’s leadership in sustainable financing is supported by a comprehensive framework aligned with credible standards, sectoral insights and tailored solutions that help businesses transition to low-carbon operations.
UOB Malaysia is the first bank to partner with Bursa Malaysia to offer the Centralised Sustainability Intelligence (CSI) platform to its small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) customers. This initiative empowers businesses to improve their sustainability performance and reporting, in alignment with the National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF).
Further advancing its sustainability agenda, UOB Malaysia continues to embed sustainable practices into its operations — exemplified by its green headquarters, UOB Plaza 1 Kuala Lumpur, which stands as a symbol of the Bank’s commitment to sustainable development.
These latest wins add to UOB Malaysia’s growing list of industry honours. In March, the Bank was named Malaysia’s Best Bank at the 32nd Annual World’s Best Bank Awards – Asia Pacific by Global Finance.
