Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 24 November 2025 – UOB Malaysia today announced a strategic collaboration with Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor) to strengthen Selangor’s position as a leading investment destination in Malaysia and the region. Both parties will work closely to attract targeted global investments, facilitate market entry for multinational companies, and support the development of high-value, innovation-driven industries in line with Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) and Rancangan Selangor.
The announcement follows the recent launch of the Central Region Industrial Cluster Initiative by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI)1, with Selangor contributing to the initiative through its strong industrial foundation and strategic advantages.
YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade & Mobility, said, “The collaboration reflects Selangor’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for global investors. By working with UOB Malaysia, we are strengthening our ability to attract high-value investments that will drive innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth for the state and the nation.”
Under this partnership, UOB Malaysia will leverage its extensive banking network across Malaysia and ASEAN to promote Selangor’s investment opportunities to foreign investors.
Ms Ng Wei Wei, Chief Executive Officer, UOB Malaysia, said, “The Bank is honoured to play a role in supporting Selangor’s ambitions. We are committed to helping global businesses seize opportunities in Malaysia and across ASEAN. Through this partnership with Invest Selangor, we will leverage our regional connectivity and industry expertise to facilitate foreign direct investments (FDIs), promote green practices and support the growth of high-value sectors in Selangor.”
UOB Malaysia and Invest Selangor will jointly organise investment missions, conferences, and roundtable meetings in key markets in Greater China, Asia and Western Economies. The collaboration will focus on high-growth sectors such as Electrical and Electronics (E&E), specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, machinery and equipment, medical devices, renewable energy, and consumer technology.
Dato’ Hasan Azhari, Chief Executive Officer, Invest Selangor, said, “The partnership will provide investors with the support they need to succeed. Invest Selangor is proud to collaborate with UOB Malaysia to position Selangor as a premier investment destination. Together, we will help investors establish and expand their operations while contributing to the state’s economic transformation agenda.”
Beyond attracting foreign investors, the collaboration will create new opportunities for local SMEs by connecting them to regional supply chains and enabling the adoption of green technologies and IR4.0 solutions. This will further strengthen Selangor’s position as a hub for sustainable and innovation-driven industries.
