Adjunct Professor Dr. Muhammad Pisol bin Mohd @ Mat Isa currently holds the position of Interim Chairman of the Shariah Committee at UOB Malaysia. He concurrently serves as a Shariah Committee Member at Great Eastern Takaful Berhad and as a Senior Consultant with Tawafuq Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. Additionally, he is appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Open University Malaysia (OUM). His previous appointments include serving as a Shariah Committee Member at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Malaysia Berhad. Dr. Muhammad Pisol obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Usuluddin (Theology and Philosophy) from Al-Azhar University, Egypt. He subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Usuluddin (Islamic Thought) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Islamic Banking, Shariah, and Economics from the University of Malaya. He is a Certified Shariah Advisor (CSA), accredited by the Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS).

Associate Professor Datin Dr. Wan Marhaini binti Wan Ahmad serves as a member of the Shariah Committee at UOB Malaysia. She is also a Shariah Committee Member at Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad. Her previous roles include serving on the Shariah Committees of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad and EONCAP Islamic Bank Berhad. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Banking, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya. Datin Dr. Wan Marhaini holds a Bachelor of Shariah (Hons.) from the University of Malaya, a Master’s degree in Economics from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and a PhD in Islamic Finance from the University of Edinburgh. She is a Certified Shariah Advisor (CSA) under ASAS and is a registered Shariah Adviser with the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Professor Dr. Noraini binti Mohd Ariffin is a member of the Shariah Committee at UOB Malaysia. She also serves on the Shariah Committee of AmMetLife Takaful and has previously held a similar role at Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad. She is currently the Deputy Dean (Academic and Internationalisation) at the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Professor Dr. Noraini holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Accounting) from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance (with Distinction) from the University of Dundee, and a PhD in Accounting for Islamic Banking from the University of Surrey. She is a Certified Shariah Practitioner (CSP), recognised by the Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS).
